Horse's Name/Sire/Trainer | Comments | Next Race |
Palace Malice/Curlin/Pletcher | Possibly the best horse currently in training regardless of age and sex. Will be facing defending Dirt Mile winner Goldencents in his next race. Also possible are Preakness 3rd place finisher Social Inclusion. | Met Mile |
California Chrome/Lucky Pulpit/Sherman | Derby and Preakness winner goes for the Triple Crown in his next start. Will get a break afterwards. Pacific Classic bound? Has won on synthetic before. | Belmont |
Mucho Macho Man/Macho Uno/Ritvo | Although the defending Classic winner bounced in the SA Handicap, if he does well at Saratoga this summer watch out. | TBA |
Game On Dude/Awesome Again/Baffert | It appears that the 2011 Classic runner up is finally starting to show his age with his runner up finish at Charles Town and his poor season debut. He also doesn't have the best relationship with Santa Anita. | TBA |
Will Take Charge/Unbridled's Song/Lukas | Maybe starting 3 times this year before the Alysheba had caught up to him in that race where he finished 6th. Not sure what to think about his chances in his next possible start. | Stephen Foster? |
Revolutionary/War Pass/Pletcher | It's hard to be the Pimlico Special winner, yet is the second best older horse in his stable. Could be very dangerous in the Whitney and/or Woodward if that's where he's pointing too. Could also be Suburban bound. |

Top Horses List- Classic: Very Early Look
This is a very early list at some of the contenders for this year's Classic. The next update will be after the Stephen Foster when it will be the start of the top 5 lists for the Classic and Distaff (the other categories will come after Royal Ascot, and the openings of Saratoga and Del Mar). For this week only, the horses are not being ranked.
