The first WAYI race in Europe of the season went to when Shadwell's Taghrooda (GB) (Sea the Stars (IRE)) won the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes today at Ascot. Telescope (IRE) (Galileo (IRE)) finished in second and Mukhadram (GB) (Shamadral) was in third. Taghrooda was the only filly in the race and is undefeated in her four starts which include the Epsom Oaks.
She was ridden by Paul Hanagan and trained by John Gosden, she was bred by her owner. Out of the mare Ezmia (IRE) (Saddlers Wells), Taghrooda has earned £928,902 about $1,576,950.48 US.

Taghrooda has now earned a spot in the Turf with this win.
