The first European Win and You're In race of the Year takes place on Saturday in the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth which takes place at Ascot Racecourse. The King George (as I will be referring it from here on out) is a WAYI for the Turf held at a mile and a half. Lets take a look at this year's field:

Telescope (Galileo (IRE)): Won at Royal Ascot over Joshua Tree, Dandino among others. Had finished second to Noble Mission (who was pointed towards this race, but appears to be waiting until next month's Arlington Million in the US).

Leitir Mor (Holy Roman Emperor (IRE)): 3 top three finishes in the last year. His last win was June 2013.

Magician (Galileo (IRE)): Last year's Breeders' Cup Turf winner. 2nd in his last 2 including at Royal Ascot against the now retired The Fugue.

Romsdal (Halling): 3rd in the Epsom Derby to Australia and second in a Group 3 before that. This will be his 5th career start.

Trading Leather (Teofilo (IRE)): 2nd in the Corel-Eclipse to Mukhadram (who is also in this race). Has faced The Fugue, Declaration of War, Magician and Lines of Battle (now named Helene Super Star in Hong Kong).

Taghrooda (Sea the Stars (IRE)): Undefeated in three starts, including the Epsom Oaks. This will be her first start against males.

Eagle Top (Privotal (GB)): 2 for 3 in his career including a win in his last at Royal Ascot. Is the most lightly raced horse in the field.

Flintshire (Dansili (GB)): Has been running against some good company including last year's Classic 3rd place finisher Ruler of the World, Arc winner Treve and European stalwart Cirrus Des Aigles. 5th in France in his last.
