Del Mar Handicap Recap

Making his stakes debut, Michael House's Big John B (Hard Spun) made his move on the final turn to pull away and win the Del Mar Handicap by 5 1/4 lengths. Bench Light (Benchmark) and Bright Thought (Hat Trick (JPN)) was third. Ridden by Mike Smith, John is trained by Phil D'Amato. He was claimed earlier this year for $50,000.
