Pacific Classic Preview

California's biggest Summer race is finally comes on Sunday. It's a WAYI for the Classic, here is this year's field for the Pacific Classic.

Frac Daddy (Scat Daddy): 4th in the San Diego, 2nd in the Dominion Day and won the Eclipse. Pure synthetic specialist. (Found out on Twitter that he has been scratched)

Irish Surf (Giant's Causeway): Won the Cougar II, 4th in the Wittingham and Allowance/Optional Claimer. Grandson to a BC race winner and son of a Classic runner up.

Imperative (Bernardini): 8th in the San Diego, 3rd in the Gold Cup at Santa Anita and won the Charles Town Classic. 2nd and 8th in two other starts at Del Mar.

Ice Cream Truck (Pleasantly Perfect): 3rd in his last two including the Cougar II. Best finish at Del Mar is a second last year (Cross entered into the Del Mar Handicap).

Game On Dude (Awesome Again): Defending champion, but looks like best days are behind him. 4th in the Gold Cup, 2nd in the CT Classic, won the SA Handicap in his last three starts.

You Know I Know (Simon Pure): 3rd in the San Diego, 4th in Allowance/Optional Claimer and 6th in the All American. 3rd in last year's Pacific Classic and Fayette.

Majestic Harbor (Rockport Harbor): Winner of the Gold Cup, 3rd in the Californian and won the Tokyo City. 3rd in his lone Del Mar start, but that was on turf.

Toast of New York (Thewayyouare): 6th in the Belmont Derby, won the UAE Derby and a small stakes at Wolverhampton. Is 3 for 4 on synthetic.

Clubhouse Ride (Candy Ride (ARG)): 2nd in the Gold Cup, won the Californian and 4th in the CT Classic. Synthetic form can be hit or miss, but did win the Californian last year on a synth.

Mystery Train (Not For Sale (ARG)): Has won his last three starts, two of them being Group 1's. This will be his US debut.

Shared Belief (Candy Ride (ARG)): Won the Los Alamitos Derby, allowance and Cash Call Futurity. 2Yo Champion Male and is undefeated in his career.
