Flag of Hong Kong is flying high tonight in Arcadia, California as Cheung, Yuk Tak, Ho, Chi Keung, Wong, Tak Wai and Yang, Siu Shun's Rich Tapestry (IRE) (Holy Roman Emperor (IRE)) ran down two Breeders' Cup race winners, Dirt Mile winner Goldencents (Into Mischief) and Secret Circle (Eddington) to win the Santa Anita Sprint Championship. Olivier Doleuze rode the winner for trainer Michael Chang. This is the first time a horse based out of the island has won in the US.
Bred by Moyglare Stud Farm, the winner is out of the mare Genuine Charm (IRE) (Saddlers Wells). Rich's second dam Market Slide (Gulch) is a 1/2 sister to Breeders' Cup Classic runner up Twlight Agenda (Devil's Bag). His record is 27 starts with 7 wins, 4 seconds and 1 third and earnings of $1,449,533.
